I’m Manuela López, a freelance illustrator based in Terrassa, a small town in northeastern Spain, you’ll find me online as M or Srta.M, the Spanish equivalent of Miss M.
Like many illustrators I grew up drawing a lot, discovering along the way that I was quite introverted and dreaming of continuing to draw when I grew up. Luckily, since obtaining my Higher Education Certificate in Illustration, I’ve been able to keep drawing just as I imagined I would as a child.
My work is deeply inspired by the cosmos—stars, planets, and galaxies—and I love creating detailed, texture-rich illustrations with a strong focus on color.
I’ve collaborated on many illustrated books and series with both national and international publishers who have trusted my work —thank you ♥︎— including Little Simon by Simon & Schuster, Albert Whitman & Company, Kane Miller Books, Penguin Random House, SM, and Anaya.
In my free time, I enjoy long walks outdoors with my husband and my little assistant, Abby.
